The MM2H visa, the Malaysia My Second Home program, is the seminal long-term Golden Visa made available by Malaysia to everybody in the world, regardless of race or nationality. Any applicant able to meet the requirements has been and continues to be approved for the MM2H Visa, along with any and all the applicants' dependents.
A long-term multiple-entry social visit pass, MM2H is especially popular amongst retirees and semi-retirees the world over. This includes the countless so-called snowbirds from Canada. By default, employment is not permitted whilst in Malaysia. However, MM2H holders over 50 years of age can submit a request to work part-time. Typically, this request is approved.
It typically takes roughly three months for the visa application to be processed. There are exceptions, however, since the process may involve third-party entities, including authorities located overseas.
Offshore income, including general remittances, rental income and fixed income such as dividends, FD coupon payments, are all not taxable.
